Mineola Hurricanes Fall Season update
After 8 games the Mineola Hurricanes 12U find themselves at 7-1 in 2nd place in the division. They square off this week against the first place New Hyde Park Blue Devils in a double header that could decide the title.
In week 3 the Hurricanes once again came to play and pounded Central Islip 13-1 in the first game of the double header. In the 2nd game they won again 8-1. As the Hurricanes got ready for week 3 they were bitten once again by the injury bug and found themselves down several players and in need of some substitutes. In week 4 still missing several key players the Hurricanes found themselves in need of 2 substitutes to ensure they had enough players for the double header against the Hauppauge Eagles. Special thanks to Anthony Raziano and Daniel Braster for coming down and helping us out that week.
In the first game of the double header the Hurricanes were led by the perfect game pitched by Chris Wiercinski. It only took 4 innings thanks to the bats pf the Hurricanes in route to the 15-0 defeat. The Hurricanes continued to win by taking the 2nd game of the double header 6-0.

The Hurricanes are getting back several key players and are hoping the outstanding pitching and hitting will help them prevail against New Hyde Park this weekend. If you would like to come down and watch this epic battle it is Sat Oct 5 @ Jackson Ave school field.
I am very proud of the ways the boys have played so far this season having outscored our opponents 66- 11 and pitching 4 shutouts through the first 8 games. All the hard work put in during this year is showing in how the boys are playing this season.
