Former Mineola resident passed away on December 4.
Dorothy Ann Jirinec, of Hampstead, NC, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012
Jirinec was born on May 3, 1927, in Mineola, NY to William A. Hill and Beatrice Moore Hill. She moved to North Carolina in 1989 with her family.
She ran The Crystal Elephant Antique Store in Hampstead where she was CEO with her loving son and business partner. Jirinec had a big heart and touched many lives, putting others first before herself. She loved all animals, especially her dogs, Skippy, Buddy, Rough, Rusty, Captain and turtle, Little Speedy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jirinec, her daughter, Carol Jirinec and many cousins, Evelyn, Beatrice, Val and her brother, Robert.
Jirinec is survived by her son William Jirinec.
A graveside service was held on Dec. 7, 2012, at Oleander Memorial Gardens by Rev. Robert J. Kus. Friends were invited to the Jirinec home following the service.
