Joseph Gerard Brislin, 76

Chaminade High School alumnus passed away on June 30, 2013.

Joseph Gerard Brislin of Tega Cay, SC, passed away on June 30, 2013 at the age of 76.

Born on Feb. 11, 1937, he was a native of Richmond Hills, Queens, NY and the Scranton area, he was the son of the late Joseph Gerard Sr. and Anne Brislin. He attended Chaminade High School and Fordham University.

Brislin was a lifelong fan and 40-year season ticket holder of the New York Giants football team. Joe was a huge history buff especially interested in World War I and World War II history. He loved to discuss politics and classic movies. Joe could tell you who was in a movie just by giving the title as long as it was produced prior to 1958. He also loved the sport of horse racing and avidly followed the horses, jockeys and owners. He was the keeper of the family history and would regale all with his stories. He had a dry sense of humor and always made people laugh.

Brislin is survived by his brother, Andrew Brislin (Lorraine); his niece, Dianna Fuqua (Joseph); and grandnephew, Joshua; and his nephew, Joseph Brislin (Kim); and his grandnephews, Drew and Tyler; as well as his uncle, Andrew Bim Brislin (Gloria).

A private service will be held for family on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, SC.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.palmettofh.com. The family was served by Palmetto Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Mill, SC.
