Melita Ruth Fingerlin, 70, Tax Clerk

Former Mineola resident passed away on April 5, 2013.

Melita Ruth Fingerlin passed away on April 5, 2013 at the age of 70. She was born on Oct. 6, 1942 in Mineola, New York.

Mrs. Fingerlin was a retired tax clerk and tag officer for the Bureau of Sayreville, NJ. She and her husband moved to The Villages from Sayreville, NJ in 2003. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, a past member of the Columbiettes in New Jersey and past catechism teacher at St. Bernadette’s Church. Melita enjoyed playing golf, crocheting, and reading. 

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Frederick Fingerlin, Sr., of The Villages, FL; four sons, Frederick, Fingerlin, Jr. of Bayville, NJ; Robert Fingerlin of Temecula, CA; Michael John Fingerlin of Ocean Gate, NJ; Richard Fingerlin, Manalapan, NJ; her daughter Cynthia Hurley of Temecula, CA; two sisters, Rhoda Vogeler of Millwood, NY and Patricia Soldt-Opperman of Roswell, GA; her mother Josephine Soldt of Roswell, GA and 15 grandchildren. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. A visitation was held on April 9, 2013 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services at The Villages.
