Ralph G. Pomponio of Garden City, NY passed away on Jan. 12, 2013 at the age of 86.
He was the husband of the late Carmela; father of Robert (Joanne), an athletic instructor at Chaminade High School, and Phyllis Pomponio-Chacona (Chris); grandfather of Jennifer Pomponio-Soper (Brian), Jamie and Ryan; great-grand-father of Sean Patrick; brother of Rosie.
He was an honorary lifetime member of the Garden City Park Fire Department, a retired Captain of the Garden City Special Police Department and Knights of Columbus.
A wake was held on Jan. 14 at the New Hyde Park Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit R.C. Church in New Hyde Park, NY with private cremation to follow.
