Richard F. Stott, 89, Owner of Tool and Machine Co.

Mineola business owner passed away on March 20, 2013.

Richard F. Stott of Massapequa, NY, passed away on March 20, 2013 at the age of 89.

Stott was a mold maker for the plastics industry and headed Stott Tool and Machine Co. in Mineola. He was a pilot, an avid sailor and loved camping and the Boy Scouts, where he was an active leader in Troop 73. He attended Steven's Institute, was a flight instructor in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and moved to Massapequa in 1948.

He was the devoted husband to Vanda Stott who passed away nine days prior. The two met in high school, wed in 1944 and lived in harmony for 69 years.

He is survived by daughters Sheryl Fratino of Chester, VT, Mara Liesegang of Brookhaven and son Richard of Southampton; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by daughter Hollie Stott of Apalachicola, FL.

A memorial service was held on Monday, April 1 at the Massapequa Funeral Home South Chapel.
