Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, gives timeless lessons on hope, faith, perseverance and courage that inspire people of all faiths and backgrounds.
I spent part of Friday touring hospitals stricken by Superstorm Sandy and couldn’t help but think about how much the message of Hanukkah applies to us here on Long Island, as we fight to recover from those cold, dark days after Sandy and face tough challenges to rebuild our communities.
I’m always grateful for the inspirational message of Hannukah, and there’s no better time than now for us to celebrate this beautiful holiday.
