Mineola village trustee Lawrece Werther offered the following statement at the December 21 meeting of the village board:
At this time of year – and it is one of my favorite times of year – I get to celebrate Christmas as many of you do. So while I can’t give every one of you a gift, I can give you my wishes for you:
I wish all of you love where there is hate.
I wish you peace where there is turmoil.
I wish you health where there is illness.
And next year I sincerely hope that God holds you and you and your family in the palm of His hand and gives you every blessing that He possibly can.
So in the spirit of the season, God bless you all, God bless Mineola ad have a very, very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Lawrence Werther has served as a trustee on the since 2003. He is currently the longest-serving member on the board and has been a resident of the village since 1980.
