Artie is a longtime resident of the area of the district, the largest area of the district, yet it is not currently represented by any trustees.
Artie is known for many aspects of volunteering in the district with various parents groups at Jackson Avenue, and , as well as district wide committees. Artie is a co-founder of P.E.A.C.E, a grassroots group whose main objective is to educate residents with facts regarding proposed budgets and major decisions being made by the district’s board of education and administration.
One of Artie’s more recent displays of community connection, which I am proud to have been a part of, was his organization of district residents from all areas in an effort to clean up and display his at the . This project expressed a true collaboration of residents from all aspects of the district for the greater good of the district.
in the Mineola High School auditorium, and I encourage everyone to come out and hear what the candidates have to say. Board of Ed trustee elections and budget vote will take place on May 15 and I hope that you will come out and help me support Candidate Artie Barnett.
