This past Tuesday I participated in the “Meals for Moms” Capitol Hill event – designed to raise awareness, in the days leading up to Mother’s Day of senior hunger, especially as it impacts senior women.
“Meals for Moms” is a campaign of Meals On Wheels Association of America – the oldest and largest national organization composed of and representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in the United States, with some 5,000 local programs and 2.2 million volunteers throughout the nation.
The “Meals for Moms” event featured two iconic television stars of the legendary prime-time dramas of the 1980s – Linda Evans of “Dynasty” and Linda Gray of “Dallas.”
Joining us were other members of Congress, who signed Mother’s Day cards for constituents, which will be delivered along with nutritious meals by Meals On Wheels programs in their Congressional districts. The event was co-sponsored by RLTV, the cable network that provides consumers with information and entertainment to help Redefine Life after 50.
