On Israeli Interception of Ship Approaching Blockade

Rep. McCarthy issues statement after reports Israel stopped ship from passing Gaza Strip blockade.

Especially due to its history of being the target of attacks by terrorists in the region, Israel has the full right to intercept ships attempting to break its blockade, which even a United Nations panel has declared to be fair in order to protect Israeli security.

The world community must support Israel’s sovereign right to take precautions to defend herself against any possible threat, especially after Israel’s March 2011 interception of a ship it said was carrying Iranian military-style weapons to terror organizations in the Gaza Strip.

I stand firmly on Israel’s side on her right to defend herself from potential threats and am grateful that Israel is being vigilant in rooting out terror in the Middle East, which is a threat not just to Israel but to all people of the region and the United States, as well.

Carolyn McCarthy is the representative of New York’s Fourth Congressional District. She was first elected in 1996.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
