Patch Talk Back: How Prepared Are You for Storms?

Are you concerned about hurricane season?

Wednesday brought pounding rains to Nassau County, and heavy flooding in especially in Garden City and . 

For some, the storms served as a reminder that this is hurricane season, nearly one year after Tropical Storm Irene hit Port Washington. 

Local leaders want us to be prepared. For instance, Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, D-Great Neck, is partnering with the Long Island Power Authority to hold seminars on  on Aug. 21.

Which has us wondering: Will you attend one of the seminars? How concerned are you about hurricane season? Have you thought about putting together an storm-emergency kit for this year? Tell us in the comments.
