As the space shuttle Atlantis docks with the International Space Station for the final time, we can’t help but be a little nostalgic for the 30-year program. Yes the United States will –or may – have a new vehicle in a few years, but there’s nothing to fill the gap.
For today’s “Question of the Day,” a feature you will see on this site daily, we're asking you, the experts on your community, to tell us what you think of the decision to stop the space shuttle program.
How do you feel about spaceflight? What about Astronauts having to use Russian rockets to get into space from now until the new program? Should the program have been extended until the new vehicle is ready?
