Saluting Veterans and Sandy Relief Workers

Congresswoman McCarthy writes to military personnel and hurricane relief workers.

I wish to salute active and retired military personnel who have served in the armed forces and have been helping victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Along with Memorial Day and Independence Day, this is a day the nation salutes our brave men and women in uniform for the sacrifices they have made to protect us from harm and defend our liberty.

We should honor our veterans and active duty servicemen and servicewomen every single day, for they are there for us every single day, in times of both war and peace.

Just in the last two weeks alone we have seen the selfless work of our National Guard and other military branches as they helped victims of Hurricane Sandy, draining water from flooded buildings and helping rebuild and restore damaged infrastructure.

The work of our active duty and retired military keeps us safe and helps us be the greatest nation in the world.  I join my fellow Americans in honoring them today.

Carolyn McCarthy is the representative of New York’s Fourth Congressional District. She was first elected in 1996.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
