Weigh In on Third and Sixth Precinct Merger

Are communities less safe with less precincts?

County Executive Edward Mangano’s  was  July 2 when the absorbed the Sixth – one of two that formerly worked with the Glen Cove Police Department. 

The other is the Second Precinct, which is also being merged under the plan.

Those precincts will be turned into  which will be staffed but not used to run patrols out of or process arrests.

Opponents of the plan, which was approved by a vote split along party lines in the county legislature, have expressed concern about how the consolidation will impact affected communities.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
