5 Alarm Early-morning Fire Ravishes Williston Park Stores
A strip of businesses and residents were damaged by fire, police said.
A five-alarm early-morning fire heavily damaged five Williston Park shops Thursday, authorities said.
Detectives say police responded to a working fire at 2:40 a.m., when a strip of businesses and residents at 615, 617, 619, 621, and 623 Willis Avenue. The fire caused extensive damage to the stores and a partial roof collapse to four of the shops. An adjoining apartment at one store was evacuated.
East Williston, Albertson, Mineola, Roslyn, Garden City Park, Westbury, Carle Place, Manhasset, Lakeville, Roslyn, and Port Washington Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire, police said. There were 15 fire apparatus and 100 fire personnel at scene. A Nassau County Fire Marshal was also at the scene scene.

There were no injuries reported, police said.
The fire is deemed not suspicious at this time, according to police.
