Bomb Scare Evacuates State Supreme Courthouse Tuesday Morning
Fake bomb threat briefly causes Mineola courthouse to empty.
The New York State Supreme Courthouse in Mineola was evacuated Tuesday morning after a bomb threat had been received by telephone according to official reports.
While the entire court complex was searched after evacuations took place at about 11 a.m., no suspicious packages or items were found and police from the arson-bomb squads reported to the scene to conduct an investigation.
People in the building were told to wait in a parking area across from the court complex while the building was searched. The area was deemed safe for people to return at about 11:30 a.m. and jurors from the central jury room were instructed to return at 2 p.m.
