Crime Blotter: Assault, Elderly Scam and Burglaries

Third Precinct police responded to the following calls March 30 – April 11 in Mineola.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department Third Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

April 2: Third Precinct police arrested Edward Hamilton, 26, of Brooklyn for an alleged assault occurring at 11:57 a.m. at

April 7: 12 watches, jewely, electronics and credit cards were stolen from an Emory Road house at 11:29 p.m.

April 8: Jewelry was reported stolen from a home on First Street at 7:43 p.m.

April 11: an elderly Watkins Drive resident was the victim of a financial scam, losing an unknown amount of money. The suspect reportedly contacted the senior claiming to be police officer with victim’s grandson in custody at a Mineola Court.
