A contractor working on an electrical panel reportedly received an electric shock and had a finger amputated on Oct. 1 at about 12:25 p.m. He was transported to .

Garden City Park

  • A 17-year old male bicyclist was reported to have been hit by a car at the corner of Washington Avenue and Herricks Road near the on Sept. 28 at about 7:25 a.m. The vehicle stopped and no injuries were sustained at the scene.
  • A possible robbery was reported at a commercial building at 2449 Jericho Turnpike on Sept. 30 at 9:45 a.m.

  • A female 29-year-old from Hempstead at Lord & Taylor was arrested on Sept. 21 for the theft of two designer tops valued at $157.
  • A residence on Cathedral Avenue was found burglarized on Sept. 24. Miscellaneous currency and jewelry were taken from second floor bedrooms.  Total loss is approximately $1,000.
  • A driver fled police on Sept. 24 after being stopped for speeding on Stewart Avenue. While being interviewed, the subject put the vehicle in gear and drove away with a female passenger. The driver drove through a front yard and disobeyed numerous traffic signals before the vehicle overturned.
