Roslyn
A person was reported to have been thrown off a horse in the rear of 19 Partridge Drive on December 23 at 2:44 p.m.
A car overturned in the area of I U Willets Road and Shelter Rock Road on December 26 at 3:06 p.m. No pin was reported.
Manhasset
A pedestrian was struck at Colonial Parkway and Locust Place on December 24 at 5:46 p.m.
Franklin Square
A bank robbery occurred at 690 Hempstead Turnpike on December 23 at 2:49 p.m. According to detectives, an unknown Middle Eastern male subject entered the TD Bank and presented a demand note to a teller. After obtaining an unknown amount of U.S. currency the subject fled on foot through the front of the bank and northbound on Carl Avenue. Five employees and four customers were present. No injuries were reported. The subject is further described as 5’6”- 5’7” tall, medium complexion, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored sweatpants and a red and black scarf partially covering his face. A burglary occurred on December 27 at 2:40 a.m. at 804 Hempstead Turnpike. According to detectives, the manager of NYCOM-Verizon Wireless received notification through his cell phone that the alarm was sounding. The victim then called police. Upon arrival, police found a front glass door breakage. It was determined that a male black subject approximately 6 foot, 220 lbs, stocky built, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and black gloves entered the business, but fled the scene before police arrival. A robbery occurred on Thursday, December 27 at 6:50 p.m. at 984 Hempstead Turnpike. According to detectives, two male subjects, wearing masks and gloves, entered the Dollar Store. One of the subjects displayed a handgun while the other took an undisclosed amount of cash and a cell phone. They were last seen eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike, possibly in a red Chevrolet Avalanche. There were three employees in the store at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported. A Pennsylvania man was arrested for a bank robbery which occurred on Thursday, December 27 at 6:22 p.m. According to detectives, Enley Ball, 33, of Tobyhanna, PA, entered the TD Bank located at 690 Hempstead Turnpike displayed a handgun and verbally demanded money from the teller. Ball fled on foot in an unknown direction after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash. He was located by Fourth Precinct patrol officers on Caroline Avenue and Ninth Street a short time later and placed under arrest. Proceeds from the Robbery were recovered. Five employees were in the bank at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported. Ball is charged with first degree robbery, first degree criminal use of a firearm and second degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned on December 28 at First District Court in Hempstead.
Westbury
Multiple reports of criminal mischief and larcenies from automobiles occurred in Westbury between Saturday, December 22 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, December 23 at 2:30 a.m. According to detectives, a 2010 Toyota and 2007 Mazda were broken into while parked in the Applebee’s parking lot at 1300 Corporate Drive. Entry was made through broken windows and a computer and video game system were removed. Four vehicles including a 2006 Nissan, 2006 Cadillac, 1998 Nissan and 1998 Honda had their windows broken and merchandise removed while parked at Fulton Street and Drexel Avenue. Assorted clothing and a jacket were stolen. While parked at 39 Post Avenue four vehicles had their windows shattered and contents removed. Items reported stolen from a Nissan (unknown year), 1994 Nissan, 2007 Nissan and 2007 Lexus included three wallets, two handbags, an unknown amount of U.S. currency and credit cards. A robbery occurred on Sunday, December 23 at 10 p.m. According to detectives, a 27-year old male victim was walking on Arlington Street in the vicinity of Grand Boulevard when he was tackled to the ground by two unknown male black subjects. After removing an iPhone and wallet containing credit cards and an unknown amount of U.S. currency from the victim the subjects fled on foot northbound on Arlington Street. The victim sustained minor injuries to his face, knee and forehead but refused medical assistance at the scene. Subject one is described as 5’10” tall, 170lbs., wearing dark clothing. Subject two is further described as 5’10” tall and 180lbs. Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. A motor vehicle accident occurred on December 24 at 9:12 a.m. at 999 Corporate Drive in the rear of the Target department store with a pin reported.
A car accident occurred on the Wantagh State Parkway north of Old Country Road with injuries sustained on December 23 at 11:44 p.m. A Nassau County Police Ambulance was sent to evacuate the aided. Delays were reported in the area.
A fall victim was reported at 189 Pearl St. on December 25 at 12:57 a.m. The victim reportedly fell down a flight of stairs and was unconscious. The victim was transported to Nassau University Medical Center.
Floral Park
An officer was reportedly incurred unspecified injuries on December 22 at 7:16 p.m. at 1 Floral Blvd. at police headquarters and transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance.
Several gift cards totaling $250 were removed from a counter in Homestead School on December 17.
A 20-year-old male from Ozone Park was stopped on December 20 for speeding (78 mph in a 30 mph zone) on Stewart Avenue in the vicinity of Whitehall Boulevard. Upon an investigation, the subject was arrested for an outstanding Nassau County District Court larceny warrant. He was also charged with excessive speed and uninsured operation.
A male reportedly stole a bottle of liquor from an office at 220 Old Country Road on December 22 and then fled the area on foot. An officer arrested the subject a short distance away on Old Country Road. The subject, a male 60-year-old with no known address, was charged with burglary.
