An officer requested assistance on Broad Street north of Hillside Avenue on June 6 at 12:13 p.m. No further details were available.

Nassau County Police have arrested a Mineola man on June 7 for allegedly breaking into a home on Dartmouth Street in Williston Park and taking jewelry and coins.

A fire broke out at 500 Searingtown Road on June 7 at 10:42 a.m. in a storage facility at Christopher Morley Park. Extra manpower was requested at the scene.

New Hyde Park

The on Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park was robbed Monday afternoon. According to police, a Caucasian man about 40 years old, 6’ tall, wearing a green camouflaged t-shirt and a dark baseball cap with a Mercedes Benz logo, entered the bank at about 1:08 p.m. and presented a demand note to a teller.

Nassau County Police have apprehended a man reportedly responsible for several burglaries in Garden City Park which occurred on June 7. Steven Wohnsigl, 49, of Hicksville, allegedly broke into homes on Birchwood Drive and Morris Drive in Garden City Park as well as Betty Road in Garden City.

Franklin Square

Police are looking for a man who robbed the Astoria Federal Savings Bank on May 7. ccording to detectives, a male white entered Astoria Federal Savings Bank, 711 Franklin Avenue through the rear entrance door, approached the transaction window and handed a robbery demand note to the teller. The teller complied and passed the subject an undetermined amount of U.S. Currency through the window well. He then fled the bank through the same rear door in an unknown direction. The subject was described as being approximately 45-47 years old, about 6’2”-6’3” tall with a heavy build, around 230 pounds, short straight black hair with a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a dark gray pullover sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark colored sneakers with white bottoms. He was also wearing black plastic framed sunglasses.

Hicksville

A accident occurred at East Broadway and East Marie Street between a motorcycle and a car on June 7 at 9:50 a.m. A 24 year old man with chest injuries was transported to Nassau University Medical Center

A 16-year-old man was arrested on May 30 for menacing, possession of a weapon, harassment and criminal mischief. The subject had allegedly pushed another family member against a wall, threatening to strike her with an object, and also broke several household items.

Officers responded to a call of disorderly youths at the Country Life Press Railroad Station on June 3. Upon arrival, Officers Dallolio and Russell determined that a sign at the station was damaged. As a result of their investigation and with the assistance of the MTA Police, the officers arrested two males from Garden city, ages 19 and 22, for criminal mischief, and another 18-year-old Garden City male for trespassing on railroad property.

A motorcyclist was in East Garden City. During the accident investigation it was revealed that the operator of the Ford box truck, Kevin Kizzie, 45, of Brooklyn, was operating the truck with a suspended New York State license.

A motor vehicle accident occurred in East Garden City on June 7 at 1:29 p.m. at Stewart Avenue and Merchants Concourse. No pin was reported and subjects were treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene. 

Two homes in Lakeview, one located on Langdon Boulevard and , were burglarized on May 29.

Three sprinkler heads were stolen from a sprinkler system at a location on Nassau Boulevard in West Hempstead on May 31.

A burglary was reported on June 3 at a home on Wellington Road in Garden City South.

Police are searching for an . The suspect displayed an automatic handgun and demanded the 30-year-old's property, police said. The victim grabbed the suspect's arm and the suspect discharged the weapon. After the weapon was fired, the victim stepped back and the suspect pointed the firearm at his face, firing one shot which struck the victim in the hand, police said. As the suspect fled, he discharged the weapon again striking the victim in the shoulder.
