Cops Hunt Baldwin Taxi Robber

Police are searching for information surrounding the robbery of an on-duty taxi driver in Baldwin.

According to Nassau County Police, a 25-year-old make driver for Dawson Taxi Company was dispatched to 679 Brooklyn Avenue at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

While he waited in front of the location, the victim was approached by an unknown man who said he would shoot the driver if he didn't give him money, cops said. The robber fled west on Brooklyn Avenue on foot with an unknown amount of money, police reported.

No injuries were reported and no weapon was displayed, reported detectives.

The subject is described as a white man, between 30 and 40 years old, 6 feet tall, unshaven, and slim build. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a red design on the front and a blue baseball cap.

Cops Search for Info on Armed Jewelry Store Robbery

Police are investigating an armed jewelry store robbery.

Two unknown men used a handgun to hold up Ritz Jewelers in Oceanside, according to Nassau County Police. The incident happened at 1:17 p.m. Thursday, cops said.

The two subjects demanded jewelry and cash from the register and fled the store in an unknown direction, police reported. No one was reportedly injured.

The first subject was described as a black male in his twenties, five feet eight inches tall, and was wearing a dark baseball cap, royal blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and black sneakers. The second subject is described as being in his twenties, five feet eight inches tall, wearing a knit-type mask and a teal-colored Adidas hoodie.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.

Cops: Ex-Contractor Stole Equipment from New Hyde Park Construction Site

A Bronx man was arrested Monday on charges relating to an Aug. 9 burglary in New Hyde Park.

According to detectives, the 42-year old male victim was informed by construction workers at his Lawrence Street home that materials and equipment valued at $5,000 dollars were missing from his home. The victim contacted Damion I. Brown, 35, the former contractor about the items. Brown admitted he had removed the property but refused to return it.

Police Search for Mall Jewelry Thief

Cops are on the hunt for a man who allegedly stole a $4,000 jewelry display at Roosevelt Field Mall in August.

On Aug. 22 at 4:20 p.m., police said the man stole a counter display containing $4,000 worth of assorted jewelry from the victim's kiosk. He fled in an unknown direction.

Cops: RVC Man Bounces $110K Check

A Rockville Centre man faces grand larceny charges after he paid back $110,000 that he owed with a bad check, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives said Marc Levine, 42, of Rockville Centre, entered into a written agreement with an unidentified 50-year-old man in November 2009. Levine borrowed a sum of money and agreed to pay it back a year later, cops said.
