Crimes Nearby: Identity Theft, Pedestrian Struck and Stolen Credit

A look at crimes in the towns surrounding Mineola.

The following arrest information was supplied by several local police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

Albertson

A car struck the Waldbaums supermarket on Willis Avenue at 1:33 p.m. on March 5. Fire department units arrived at the scene. Two persons were aided and transported to a nearby hospital.

Garden City Park

Two adults and two children were transported to with neck and back injuries after on May 6 at 12:03 p.m.

Westbury

A serious trama was reported at 125 Hopper St. on May 8 at 4:13 p.m.

A 45-year old male pedestrian was struck by a car going about 15 mph at Post Avenue and Drexel Avenue at about 9:27 p.m. on May 10. Emergency medical services were called to the scene. The aided was reported to be conscious but incoherent. He was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with severe back and arm pain.

Garden City Detectives arrested a 29-year-old woman from Rosedale on May 4 for identity theft for two incidents that occurred in April where the subject allegedly made unauthorized charges exceeding $2,500 against a credit card account of a Garden City resident.

Garden City detectives are investigating a report of two unauthorized purchases at Lord and Taylor on May 5 where the subject used the credit information of a Howard Beach resident without authorization or consent.

A doctor's office on Lincoln Road in Franklin Square was burglarized sometime between May 4 and May 7.

Tires and rims were stolen off of five vehicles that had been parked in the area of Fulton Place and Emerson Place in Valley Stream, at the Mercedes Benz service center in Lakeview and on M Street in Elmont between May 2 and May 3. The thieves left the cars propped on either bricks or cement blocks.
