The Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center is giving away free smoke detectors this weekend in an effort to remind residents not to "fall behind" on fire safety this year.

Daylight Saving Time end Sunday. Nov. 3, at 2 a.m. While changing your clocks, it's a good idea to change smoke detector batteries as well.

Free smoke detectors will be given away on Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Smoke detectors are limited to one per family with paid admission to the museum.)

All detectors have been donated by the Kidde fire safety products company.
