The Long Island Rail Road is now expecting a "near normal" rush hour Tuesday night following a train wreck earlier in the day.

The MTA says delays of 20 minutes are still being expected through the rush hour and some trains were cancelled because of overcrowding at Penn Station.

The Long Island Rail Road has suspended service in both directions between Mineola and Hicksville following the crash of two service trains.

The crash took place just before noon, an MTA spokesman said. Four people were hurt on the two service trains. Two were transported to hospitals.

The spokesman said service will disrupted on both the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson lines for some time.
