Mineola Man Arrested for Selling Cocaine

Police said Matthew Higgins was caught during a sale in a CVS parking lot in Northport.

A Mineola man was arrested last week for allegedly selling cocaine in Northport according to Northport Police.

Officers reported that they caught alleged drug dealer Matthew Higgins in the act last week while observing a cocaine sale in a CVS parking lot.

After receiving intelligence from a previous arrest, police reportedly observed Higgins operating a 2008 BMW as he pulled into a parking lot at CVS Jan. 22 around 10:30 p.m. to meet a buyer.

Upon observance of the sale, officers approached the vehicle and took those involved into custody, police said. In their search, police uncovered the cocaine, as well as a small quantity of marijuana and a packet of Suboxone his wallet. 

Higgins was arrested and charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.
