Mineola Man Receives Probation for Alleged Cocaine Sale

Charles A. Attard receives one-year of interim probation for reported sale of cocaine.

A Mineola man was sentenced to one year probation relating to a 2012 charge of selling cocaine to undercover officers in Potsdam, NY.

According to Potsdam Village Police, the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, including members of the village police department, conducted several undercover purchases from Charles A. Attard and seized $1,600 in cash.

Charles A. Attard, 19, Mineola, was placed on one year of interim probation after a July 19 guilty plea to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class D felony.

On Dec. 1, Mr. Attard was arrested as the result of a drug sting that included the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force and members of the Potsdam Police Department after they conducted several undercover purchases of cocaine.

Sentencing was adjourned to 9:15 a.m. Sept. 22.

Attard, 19, was a member of the Mineola High School Class of 2012 and was at the time of his arrest a SUNY Potsdam student.
