Police: Mineola Bank Robbed

Capital One bank hit Monday afternoon.

A Mineola bank was robbed Monday afternoon, police said. 

According to police, a man entered the Capital One bank located at 210 Mineola Boulevard at 12:20 p.m and approached two tellers and verbally demanded cash.  

The tellers complied and the robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money westbound on Lincoln Avenue, police said.

There were eight employees and four customers in the bank at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported, police said.

The robber is described as a black, 30-40 years old, 6-foot to 6-foot-3, with a medium build. He was wearing a blue scarf, black sunglasses, black hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers at the time of the robbery, police said. 

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.

A bank in Merrick was also robbed Monday.
