Police Seek Help in Investigating Birchwood Court Burglary

Hispanic male reportedly broke into Mineola residence on Tuesday morning.

Nassau County Police are asking for help in investigating a burglary at the Birchwood Court apartment complex in Mineola on Tuesday morning.

According to detectives, at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, a 69 year old female victim returned to her residence on Birchwood Court and observed an unknown male Hispanic in her apartment going through the drawers of a desk.

The victim grabbed the subject but he was able to break free and flee the scene on foot. An investigation determined that jewelry and U.S. currency were missing. No injuries were reported.

The subject is further described as approximately 40 years old, 5’06” tall, stocky build, wearing a blue and white fleece jacket.
