Suspicious Package in Mineola Deemed Non-Threat

A suspicious package at an office building in Mineola has been deemed a false alarm and a non-threat according to .

The parcel was delivered to the social security building at 211 Station Road Monday afternoon with an alert sent out about the suspicious nature of the package at about 4:10 p.m.

Emergency service units were requested for the situation, which was described as a “suspicious package or device.”

Following their investigation police reported that there was no threat from the package.

In March 2011, police arrested a Port Washington man for against a social security employee at the building.
