Teen Hit by Car on Second Street Friday Night

18-year old man suffers multiple injuries to head, neck and arms while crossing Mineola street.

A teenager was struck and seriously injured Friday night as he was crossing Mineola Boulevard at the Second Street intersection in Mineola, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives report that a 51-year old male was driving his 2000 Ford south on Mineola Boulevard when he struck the 18-year old male at about 10:22 p.m. Friday night.

The teen suffered multiple injuries to the head, neck and arms was transported to a local hospital in a Nassau County Ambulance for treatment. He was listed in serious but stable condition.

Detectives report no apparent criminality with the accident at this time.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety inspection and police state that the investigation is ongoing. The identities of the teenager and the driver of the car have not been released.
