Woman Arrested in Mineola for Stealing $39K from Bank Accounts

Valkeya Jones allegedly made numerous unauthorized withdrawals from banks throughout Nassau.

A Queens woman was arrested in Mineola on Monday morning for allegedly stealing money from the accounts of several bank locations around Nassau County.

At about 11 a.m., police arrested Valkeya Jones, 24, whom police say made numerous unauthorized withdrawals at various Citibank locations using a bank card to gain access to several customers accounts and removed $39,000.

Jones was taken into custody at the Nassau County Courts where she was appearing in court on an unrelated charge. She was found to be in possession of a debit card encoded with fraudulent account information.

She is charged with third degree grand larceny, second degree possession of a forged instrument and first degree defraud. She will appear at First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
