Joe Schmoe October 06, 2011 at 02:21 AM
Moe is totally wrong. not at his house. pretty sure someone wouldve heard something
Joe Schmoe October 06, 2011 at 02:22 AM
besides who cares where it happened. no one need comment on this in the first place. Both kids are still great kids. i know them personally. they just made a few mistakes
kim23 October 06, 2011 at 01:34 PM
Both kids are idiots getting involved in illegal activities. That being said it is sad that this will reflect the school when in reality they could only do so much. It is at home where these kids are lacking rules. Now what do they have?

The adolecent brain develops up to age 25. It is evident that both young men have a solid 8 years of growth left to go. Let's hope the justice system views them as the first time offenders that they both are. A solid dose of community service, served in a drug rehab. witnessing the destruction drugs have on family, community and society may give them the education of a life time. Mother of 5 sons
Joe October 06, 2011 at 04:30 PM
I can tell you one thing. The article might say that he is still a Chaminade student, but that is definitely not the case anymore. After going through 4 years of that school I know that they would never let him back in the school after something like this.
Joe October 06, 2011 at 04:32 PM
One was a Chaminade student. The other I don't know about but it says that they were both 17.
Joe October 06, 2011 at 04:38 PM
I can tell you that at least the kid who was dealing is not a Chaminade student anymore. I know, I was a student there for four years.
Vincent October 06, 2011 at 05:18 PM
Joe Schmoe: both kids are still great kids? Wher do you draw the line on which drug they use. Are they still great kids if they do heroin? Kids yes Great kids I don't think so. You sound like a liberal apologist.
J.J October 06, 2011 at 09:19 PM
Whoever doesn't know these kids needs to shut up. You don't know them and you don't know what kind of kids they are so stop talking about them like you have the right to judge them
J.J October 06, 2011 at 09:47 PM
Are you gonna tell me you don't know any kids that do drugs or did drugs and every single one of them are bad kids? Really
maggie October 06, 2011 at 10:50 PM
You might want but can't expect people to "shut up"? If the first young man didn't deal the drugs, and the second one didn't buy/steal the drugs, which then lead the first slashing the second????....there would have never been this news report....I would never have had to hear about this sad story.... and those two boys would have graduated next year with their Chaminade diploma and maybe a college scholarship. Now what? They're young and obviously stupid. Even if they get through this without jail time....they lost a lot by screwing up.

It's not any of your business.
just a friend October 07, 2011 at 12:32 AM
everyone makes mistakes, how we learn and become better from those mistakes shows what kind of person we really are. both are bright students and i know matt personally. cant make an opinion of a person off of a article you read online. once again, EVERYONE makes mistakes. dont act like you never have?
just a friend October 07, 2011 at 01:02 AM
and not to mention theres always more to the story, you never know unless youre in their, or their families position...
Haddett Huptueer October 07, 2011 at 03:50 AM
Forget the drugs, this perp sliced his friend up with a knife. Do any of you want to defend that? It's felony assault boys. How about you stop telling people to shut up and wake up. You boys keep the story going by responding, telling people to be quiet and try to say, they did nothing so bad. I'm sure you chior boys are involved in knife fights all the time and think it's no big deal. I don't see it that way. This is my neighborhood and it is more my business than a bunch of Flushing Basement Dwelling deliquents. BTW, your rap YouTubes embarass you more than this entire incident ever will.
Vincent October 07, 2011 at 11:12 AM
Joe Schmoe, Marijuana is a gateway drug especially for kids. After they are caught they know they were wrong? How long did it take after they were caught to realize this? About two seconds? You liberal apologist!
Linda Ramos October 07, 2011 at 05:02 PM
Ah VIncent...we meet again. The matter is that this happened in my town, and one of our district's elementary schools was mentioned. What was your reason for asking a very similar question?
Haddett Huptueer October 07, 2011 at 08:48 PM
Well it seems the administrators at Chaminade don't think these are such great kids and have tossed at least four of them out. What the heck, they collected the tuition through the years. Seems the "VICTIM" has been thrown under the proverbial bus too. Or maybe, he belonged there.
jess October 07, 2011 at 09:50 PM
for all of you negative idiots out there, you shouldn't be commenting on these two kids. you don't them or their families nor what they are going through. STAY OUT OF IT.
Vincent October 08, 2011 at 08:41 AM
Ah,Ms. Ramos, Now that I have your eyes would you be kind enough to tell me how the Mineola School District teachers contract negotiations are going? There has been no news on this as well as almost no news in the Patch about the Mineola School District with the exceptuon of sports. Plus the fact that all tthe school issue posters seem to have taken the summer off like the children.
James Carrick October 08, 2011 at 10:57 AM
What every one is missing is the fact that 2 families and a school are all hurt from this action. As grown ups (and the young adults who know these boys) we must now hope and pray that there mistakes can lead them back to doing the right things and stay away from the garbage that leads to jail time. I do not now either of the young boys but I as well as any parent know that it is ripping the families apart by the poor judjement they have made. If you say they are good guys then you as a friend must help them back to being real good guys. Drugs only lead to distruction as we see first hand right now. Good boys who made a very mad decision, now everyone should stop and remember that we have all made poor decisions. The act of selling drugs and then cutting someone is not just a bad decision but a criminal act. These boys will learn the hard way and hopefully will stay away. Good luck to the families and the class mates. Remember- Drugs are not the answer- they are the end.
Linda Ramos October 08, 2011 at 02:01 PM
Vincent....I have a much better idea, why don't you come out of hiding behind only a frist name and attend a BOE meeting or two, and get all the information you seem to be so concerned with.
Vincent October 08, 2011 at 02:33 PM
Ms. Ramos, would my last name help you to understand my question better? When was the last BOE meeting btw?
Linda Ramos October 08, 2011 at 03:42 PM
Vincent, All BOE meetings are listed on the district calendar, as well as on the website, so check it out. If you want information on the School District Status, go find out for yourself.

sallyv October 10, 2011 at 02:52 AM
school teaches are stealing our kids future with there pensions !!!! to much money for less work !!! crooks
Vincent October 10, 2011 at 03:40 PM
Ah Ms. Ramos, you ask, "why don't you come out of hiding behind only a first name?" I could ask a number of posters here that same question. Such as Maggie, Joe and Jess. And do you think Joe Schmoe is really Joe Schmoe? But let me digress. I wouldn't think of asking any of them why they don't use their first or correct name as they would be right to tell me, "it's none of your business". So I don't ask.
tj December 20, 2011 at 03:43 PM
The kid that robbed the dealer started this whole mess....Nothing wrong with a little weed dealing in high school...Id rather the young experiment with weed rather then alcohol...If these kids were drunk im sure one of them would be dead or stuck in a hospital.. Stupid robber...he robs weed..then calls police cause he got beat up....Only in America Only in America...Next we will have people cooking and serving out food without being immunized since birth...
