Bonilla Verdict, E-Cycling and Free Pet Adoptions

The trial of Mark Bonilla came to a close Thursday, with the Hempstead Town Clerk being found guilty on one count of official misconduct. Hempstead Town officials called for Bonilla’s resignation after he was accused in September 2012 of threatening to transfer an employee unless he gave Bonilla personal photographs of a female employee who had accused Bonilla of sexual harassment. Read more here.

E-Cycling
Electronic equipment can be recycled and disposed of properly. All computers, computer components, televisions, VCRs and DVD players will be accepted. The event will be held on Aug. 3 at Division Avenue (off Hempstead Tpke.) in Levittown (in Town Parking Lot L2).

Free Pet Adoptions

Pet adoptions from the Town of Hempstead are still free at the town animal shelter through Sept. 14 for the town’s annual “Summer of Love” pet adoption program. The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is located at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh.
