Hempstead, North Hempstead Town Taxes Due Today

Second half taxes due today.

Monday is the last day to pay second half 2013 general taxes without penalty for both the Town of Hempstead and Town of North Hempstead.

Payment are collected in person or by mail. In addition, you may now pay your tax bill on-line or by telephone with your credit card or by electronic check.

For the Town of Hempstead, payment by credit card will incur a convenience fee of 2.5 percent of your total tax payment. Please note that a minimum convenience fee of $1 applies for credit card transactions. A flat fee of $2 will be charged for electronic check payments.

You can also pay from the comfort of your own vehicle at the town's EZ-Pay Drive Thru Payment Window. The window is located behind the town receiver's office, located at 200 North Franklin Street in Hempstead (follow the signs on the corner of Bedell Street and North Franklin Street). It's open through 4 p.m. today.

In North Hempstead, there are numerous collection sites set up to collect taxes from residents including at Clinton G. Martin Park which is open until 12 p.m., Michael J. Tully Park, which is open until 3 p.m. today, and John D. Caemmerer Park in Albertson, which is open until 2 p.m.
