Jack Martins looks to win a second term in the New York State Senate as he is currently leading Democratic challenger Daniel Ross by about 4,000 votes as of 11:30 p.m. on election night.
According to reports, Martins win the Willistons area of his district by about 75 percent, the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park area by 1,000 votes and took his home village of Mineola by a comfortable 1,800-vote margin. The only area in which he did not fare well that is known was Great Neck, with Ross leading by about 800 votes.
A total of about 98 percent of all election voting machines are accounted for according to the Nassau County Board of Elections as of 12:53 a.m.
