Mineola Names Appointees for 2011 at Annual Meeting

The Village of Mineola held its annual reorganization meeting Monday night at the .

The brief appointment ceremony took place in rapid order following the of Lawrence Werther and George Durham as trustees to the and Scott Strauss as mayor.

The vast majority of the standing-room only crowd remained for the new board to make the appointments before partaking of light refreshments in one of the adjoining rooms of the community center.

In addition to the annual appointments, current Trustee Paul Pereira was appointed as deputy mayor of the village, succeeding Werther in the position.

The following individuals were appointed for one-year terms to the respective position or board as noted:

The following number of members were appointed to the respective boards:

Undertakings of the following village positions were approved as follows:

Village Clerk $150,000 Deputy Village Clerk $75,000 Village Treasurer $150,000 Deputy Village Treasurer $75,000 Village Justice $50,000 Acting Village Justice $25,000

The village treasurer was designated custodian of the Length of Service Award Program and the following were designated as officers of the Length of Service Award Program:

  • Paul Cusato, Trustee
  • Paul Pereira, Trustee
  • George Durham, Trustee

The following banks were designated as depositories for all monies received by the Village of Mineola:
