Contracts
  • The village will conduct a public bid for several improvements to the packed tower aeration system at well No. 4 at Eighth Avenue and Old Country Road. According to superintendent of public works Tom Rini, the improvements consist of a 13-ft. extension on top of the existing air stripper, which removes contaminants and upgrades to the pump and blower as required by the health department. The estimated cost is between $700,000-$750,000.
  • The board approved a one-year extension to the current street lighting maintenance contract with Welsbach Electric of Long Island. “We’re currently looking at changing a lot of the lighting throughout the village and coming up with a whole program to do so as well as some other energy efficiency items,” Rini said, noting that the extension was to buy time in order to fully design a plan to replace all the street lighting in the village. The current contract expires in July and all pricing and terms would remain the same.
  • The village will purchase one 2013 New Holland Model 230 Skid Steer Loader with Asphalt Cold Planer Attachment, Roof Mounted Water Tank and a 78-inch, four-in-one bucket off of a New York State contact for $66,650.58 from Malvese Equipment.
