North Hempstead Board Notebook: Women’s Roll of Honor and Meeting Notes
The latest news from the Town of North Hempstead.
North Hempstead Town and Town Clerk Leslie Gross announced the honorees for the 2012 May W. Newburger Women’s Roll of Honor.
As chairperson, Gross chose this year’s theme as “To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, and don’t worry about the darkness, for that is when the star shines brightest.”
Since 1994, North Hempstead has held a Women’s History Month Breakfast to honor women who have made a contribution to their community, possess a special personal talent, or have accomplished a significant achievement through public or quiet work.
