Report: DWI Blood Samples Mishandled in Nassau County

A technician mistakenly switched two DWI blood samples, casting doubt on at least a few cases in Nassau County. According to NBC in New York, Maureen McCormick, who heads the Nassau DA's Vehicular Crimes Bureau, sent defense attorneys a letter that stated the lab "inadvertently switched the order of two blood samples." Click here for more.

Major Fixes Begin at Bay Park Plant

Critical improvements have begun at the troubled Bay Park Sewage Plant, according to County Executive Edward Mangano. Superstorm Sandy badly damaged the facility, causing it to dump substantial amounts of sewage into Reynolds Channel and sending raw sewage spilling into homes. Click here for more.
