Balance Your Energy: Nutrition and Tai Chi Lecture for Seniors

Studies have shown that the proper balance of foods and a safe exercise program can help to improve an individual’s well-being – at any age. In fact, both have been shown to
contribute to higher energy levels, a positive outlook, a more robust immune system, and better management of chronic health problems.

Seniors interested in learning more are invited to attend Winthrop-University Hospital’s free Health Update lecture, “Balance Your Energy: Nutrition and Tai Chi,” on Wednesday, September 14. The program will begin with the lecture at 1:15 p.m. followed by blood pressure checks at 2:45 p.m.

Malissa Geissler, MS, RD, will discuss balancing a diet with nutrients specific to a senior’s changing dietary needs. Linda J. Radler, PT, MPA, will demonstrate the ancient art of Tai Chi and explain how it can improve flexibility, balance and coordination.
