Catholic High School Entrance Examination

Students who plan to apply to one or more Catholic high schools on Long Island must take the Catholic High School Entrance Exmination. The exam will be administered without accommodations on Saturday, October 30 at 8:30 a.m. for students applying for admission to freshman classes beginning in the Fall of 2010.  There is a $35 registration fee.  The test center you are assigned to will be mailed to you prior to the exam.

Students must register for the exam by Wednesday, October 6. Walk-ins will be permitted on the day of the exam.  There is an additional fee of $15 for walk-ins.  Registration forms are available from parish elementary schools, religious education programs, Catholic high school admissions offices or by contacting: CHSEE, Inc., P.O. Box 361, Mineola, NY  11501.  Registration forms can also be downloaded by clicking  here.

A make-up examination for students unable to take the regularly scheduled examination without accommodations is scheduled for Saturday, November 6 at 8:30 a.m.  This exam will be administered at only two locations:  Chaminade High School in Nassau County and St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington.

Accommodations - The exam will be offered with two accommodations:  extended time (time and a half) and enlarged print (122%).  Students must submit a separate application form for students to qualify.  Students must also obtain a separate registration form.  

The Catholic High School Entrance Exam will be administered with accommodations for pre-qualified registrants on Saturday, October 30, 2010.  It will be given at 8:30am at the following locations:  Holy Trinity Diocesan High School (Hicksville), St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School (West Islip), and McGann-Mercy Diocesan High School (Riverhead).

There are no make-up exams given with accommodations nor are there any walk-ins since students must be pre-qualified.
