According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the term, "pulp fiction" had its first documented use in the Washington Post in 1935, the year of Hofstra's founding. The morning session of KAPOW! will examine pulps, comics, graphic novels, manga and anime. After a complimentary lunch, the afternoon session will focus on new media, copyright, re-mix culture, and the Google Book settlement. Join us as we celebrate the evolution of popular culture through literature, art, and film from 1935 to the present.
