String Night Concert

The Mineola Department of Fine and Performing Arts is excited to announce that the annual String Night Concert will take place on Tuesday, February 8 at 7:00 pm in the Theater at Mineola (the HS Auditorium.)

This year’s concert once again features guest artist Mr. Mark Wood.  Mark is one of the founding members of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and plays an electric “rock” violin that is unlike anything you’ve experienced before.  He will be spending the day rehearsing with the students in preparation for the show, and will be teaching about playing in a new style that includes improvisation and other skills not normally associated with string orchestras.  Expect to hear pieces that are very familiar (from groups such as The Beatles and Kansas) and some that are new but are just as exciting!
