Nassau Community College Presents: 'Sexting, Cyberbullying and Defamation: Managing Your Online Reputation'

Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Fall 2010 Cultural Program is proud to present the program Sexting, Cyberbullying and Defamation: Managing Your Online Reputation on Wednesday, November 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the College Center Building.

This lecture is presented by Alison Trachtman Hill founder of the consulting firm Critical Issues for Girls. Critical Issues for Girls works with girls, parents, educators, philanthropists, corporations and community members to address the complex and ever-changing realities of young peoples' lives in our global society.

Prior to founding Critical Issues for Girls, Hill managed the national anti-violence initiative for the Girl Scouts of the USA. Funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, this initiative contributed to girls' healthy development, with emphasis on cyberbullying and cyber threats.

Hill graduated from Tufts University with a BA in Spanish and Women's Studies. She obtained a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs with a concentration in Non-Profit Business Management. Hill is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Sociology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. She focuses her research on girls' and women's issues.
