Tips for Beating the Holiday Blues Lecture for Seniors

Whether the holidays are a source of celebration, bittersweet memories, or loneliness, seniors are invited to attend a unique program, “Tips for Preventing the Holiday Blues” on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 1:15 PM. Held at the Mineola Community Center, located at 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola, the program will offer practical ideas that can help seniors manage the stress of the season or brighten an occasion with family or friends.

Jeanine Sanderoff, LMSW, Medical Social Worker from The Winthrop-University Hospital Home Health Agency, will offer tips that will address a senior’s physical and emotional well-being. Attendees will learn how planning helps lift spirits, and discover new ways such as using old photos or story-telling to commemorate special days. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.
