Hampton Students Shoot Hoops For Heart Disease

Fourth graders raise funds for heart research.

Fourth graders at the recently participated in a “Hoops for Heart” fundraiser.

The three-on-three basketball tournament, which took place over the course of 3 months, was run by physical education teacher William DiGennaro and sponsored by the American Heart Association.

The Hampton Street PTA purchased trophies to be used in the tournament, which served the dual-purpose of raising money for a cause and keeping students active.

The classes of both Mr. Peter Carlson and Mrs. Karin Shaw raised a total of $562 to assist the American Heart Association with medical research and benefit people with heart disease.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
