Mineola school's PTA PARP committee wins 2012 Nassau award.
The PTA’s Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) Committee has been recognized as the 2012 Nassau Region PARP Winner.
The 2011-12 PARP program in the Mineola school, entitled “Reading Rocks,” received the top honor based upon its merits of being comprehensive, imaginative and fun for the children.
Jackson Avenue’s program was chosen based upon an application submitted by the PTA to the Nassau Region PTA.

Their entry has now moved on to the New York State PTA PARP Committee for review and further consideration.
The state PARP Award winner will be announced by September 1.
