Students at the will be getting some new books in after the Mineola school recently won a $1,000 Collection Development Grant from Mackin Education Resources for use to help fund the purchase of books and materials for the school’s library.

School librarian Judy Shaughnessy was entered into a contest for the grant by visiting the company’s booth at the recent American Association for School Librarians National Conference in Minneapolis.

The award monies were used to purchase a total of 55 curriculum-related books that are aligned with the new Common Core Standards. Only three educators across the United States were selected for this grant.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
