Meadow Drive Students Hold Holiday Food Drive

Mineola students collect food for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Immediately upon returning to school last week, PTAs and student organizations throughout the Mineola School District began collections to benefit local families in need after Hurricane Sandy.

At each of the buildings, food, clothing and toiletry drives are in full swing. The entire staff and student body, as well as those within the community, have been donating items to the cause.

For now, the collection is intended to be ongoing at many of the buildings.

In addition to food, kindergarten students from Meadow Drive School and social worker Zoila Castillo are also collecting backpacks and school supplies to donate to students in areas such as Oceanside, where school buildings were completely lost to the storm.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
